Strawberries…Strawberries…and more strawberries… are the centerpiece at Boone Hall Plantation for one of the most popular special events held in the Lowcountry every spring. The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival features a large variety of attractions and activities that are guaranteed fun for all ages. A Giant Ferris Wheel…a carousel…the unique Berry-Go-Round…jump castles…slides…and a carriage ride around the plantation…all are just a few of the amusements available for families to enjoy. There’s also music of all kinds, clowns, and much much more.

 

The11th Annual Lowcountry Strawberry Festival was held Saturday April 19th and Sunday April 20th, and it proved to be the most popular ever. A new attendance record was set as over 8,000 guests attended this year's festival. Many witnessed new events that are sure bets to be popular for years to come. The Pie Eating Contest was introduced this year, providing great entertainment, as every contestant's face got covered with more and more pie with each bite. The Recipe Contest featured a variety of delicious strawberry desserts. The Little Miss Berry Princess Contest was a huge hit as 20 little girls seeking the crown, came dressed in a variety of strawberry outfits that looked absolutely adorable.

 

And no visit to Boone Hall during this festival would be complete without a chance for the family to pick their own strawberries from our U-Pick fields. This year over 4 tons...over 8,000 pounds of strawberries...were picked from Boone Hall Farms U-Pick fields, also setting a new festival record!
