Boone Hall Mt. Pleasant
Plantation in Charleston Charleston, SC Plantation
Starlight Pops Concert
Featuring The Charleston Symphony

Combine Boone Hall Plantation, one of Charleston, SC’s most beautiful venues, with a wonderful picnic spread, and a majestic performance by The Charleston Symphony, and what results is a magical spring evening enjoyed by over 2,000 people in attendance. The Starlight Pops Concert, directed by Maestro David Stahl, was held Saturday May 3rd on the back lawn of Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens.

Prior to the symphony’s performance, picnics of every size and substance were spread under large oak trees with spectacular marsh views. Champagne, wine, and beverages of every kind combined with boiled shrimp, devilled eggs, and other lowcountry specialties to create diverse picnic menus enjoyed by all.

The annual picnic spread contest was held and judges this year were Mt. Pleasant Mayor Harry Hallman, 82 Queen proprietor Steve Kish, and Boone Hall owner Willie McRae.

Once the concert began, music was performed that ranged from memorable movie soundtracks to popular musical scores of yesterday and today. The Charleston Symphony performed under a new amphitheater type band shell, purchased by Boone Hall specifically to host concerts. It was a wonderful performance on a perfect spring evening.
