This program combines the Butterfly Educational Tour with a tram ride around Boone Hall Farms. The tram will stop at the Strawberry Fields and students will be able to pick a bucket of strawberries. Everyone will see first hand how fruits and vegetables are grown and what is required to keep plants healthy. Seasonal observations are discussed and comparisons drawn between plants, animals and humans. While touring the Butterfly Pavilion they will be able to see up close the different eggs, caterpillars and chrysalides and how they adapt to different environments for survival. This program lasts about 2 hours and meets South Carolina Science Standards for K-Third Grades. A covered tent is provided for classes wishing to bring their lunches and jump castles will be available for play time. Cost: $10.00 per child. Teachers are free and chaperones are $7.00 each.
